With most landmarks within easy walking distance from one another, the best way to enjoy old Krakow is on foot. The more so that the bulk of the city’s historic area has been turned into a pedestrian paths.
Krakow's Taxi Cabs
Taxis are rather cheap in Krakow – for trip around city boundaries you should not pay more than 30 euro . Rememebr this is far for the daytime on a weekday, during night the prices can be higher.
It is good to call directly to different taxi telephone centers because each has its own fleet. Usually you can’t expect an English speaker on the other end of the phone line but a taxi will arrive in few minutes to your address if youmanage to give one.
Useful tip : Fares for the taxi trip have beed freed since January 2008. Before you get in to the taxi check the rates per kilometer or any extra charges ( for example weekend charges ) , which should be shown on the taxis door.

Driving Car in Krakow
Krakow as a busy city with its large number of dweller has the rush-hour traffic jams which are common. However still there seems to be much less problematic here than in most cities in the world.
Unfortunatelly the shortage of parking space in downtown Krakow is unpleasant surprise to drivers. If you need to find parking lots, you have to pay 2 to 4 euro for an hour).
Public transport
If you don’t have a car , you really do not have to worry. It is even better, because public transport in Krakow is really convinient for travellers.
City has no subway here but it has a fair public transport system which consists of tramways and bus lines, local trains and a number of private-owned minibus.
Where can you buy tickets?
You can buy it in mainly at newsagents, most of the groceries. Tickets machines located at bus and trams stops are the very useful devices – it is good to have coins when you want to buy tickets from such machines.

Trains
The main railway station (Dworzec Glowny) is conveniently situated on the edge of the Old Town. When you need any extra help you will it in the main railway station buliding.

If you need to get to specific place and comfort is important for you can rent a car. Mostly services are avilable 24 hours 7 days a week. It is good to check the price and any additional costs before you rent a car. You can drive car yourself or you can hire chauffer Service according to your request . Of course there is extra charge for this service but the good thing about it is that the drivers are english speaking and they will help you to get around the city.
